In an exhilarating blend of adventure, learning, and cultural immersion, students from Grades 9 to 11 recently embarked on an unforgettable excursion to the captivating island of Bintan. Nestled in the pristine waters of the Riau Archipelago, Bintan provided the perfect backdrop for students to explore the natural wonders, cultural heritage, and environmental conservation efforts of Indonesia while forging lifelong memories and friendships.

Grade 9-11 Binta Excursion

The Bintan excursion offered CIS students in Grades 9 to 11 a unique opportunity to step outside the classroom and engage in experiential learning experiences that deepened their understanding of the world around them. Guided by experienced educators and local experts, students delved into a diverse range of activities and excursions that showcased the beauty and diversity of Indonesian culture, history, and ecosystems.

One of the highlights of the Bintan excursion was the chance to explore the island's breathtaking natural landscapes, from pristine beaches and lush rainforests to mangrove swamps and coral reefs. Students participated in eco-tours, nature walks, and marine conservation activities, gaining insights into the importance of environmental stewardship and sustainable tourism practices.

Moreover, the excursion provided students with opportunities to engage in meaningful community service projects that made a positive impact on the local community. Whether volunteering at a sea turtle conservation center, participating in beach clean-ups, or interacting with residents at a local school, students embraced the spirit of service and citizenship, fostering empathy, compassion, and cross-cultural understanding.

Beyond cultural immersion and community service, the Bintan excursion also offered students opportunities for personal growth and self-discovery. Through challenging outdoor activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, and rock climbing, students pushed themselves beyond their comfort zones, developed resilience, and built confidence in their abilities.
